Thriving
on Challenge
Kevin Corcoran guides his company to new levels of quality
and service.
One day in the mid ‘70s, someone handed Kevin
Corcoran a set of blueprints – the drawings ignited
the course of his career. "I was immediately
impressed with how buildings are constructed from a set
of plans," recalls Corcoran. With a recent bachelor’s
degree in Business Administration, Corcoran was working
for a Fort Collins builder who did both residential and
commercial projects. It was the commercial arena that
intrigued him most.
"I really liked the challenge and complexity of
commercial buildings; so I decided to do what I could to
get a solid background in this area," says Corcoran
who returned to Colorado State for graduate study in the
Construction Management program. After working with some larger
commercial construction companies, Corcoran paid
attention to "what worked and what didn’t work" before
striking out on his own.

and finished dozens of retail, office, civic, industrial
and medical buildings. The company has established a
solid reputation as a major drywall contractor.
"The sense of accomplishment is enormous,"
says Corcoran. "Everywhere I drive in this area I see
projects that we’ve worked on over the years.
These are the monuments and milestones to our growth as
a company."
"While we work for the general contractor, our ultimate
commitment is to the building owner, who is going to use
the structure long after we’re gone."

many of the more innovative and challenging projects. "It’s
extremely rewarding that we’re invited to bid on
so many high profile, commercial buildings in the
area," says Corcoran.
